Sculpey UltraLight

Sculpey UltraLight is great for armatures since it is smoother and easier to work with han aluminum foil, keeps large beads light. When rolled thin and baked, the clay remains flexible, making it the ideal product for paper crafts. After baking, Sculpey UltraLight even floats.

Sculpey UltraLight is durable and strong after baking, whether it's large sculpture, a flexible paper craft or a floating project. This soft, lightweight and easy-to-handle clay can be used to create just about anything. Here are just a few ideas of what you can do with Sculpey UltraLight.
Basic Instructions
1. Start with clean hands and work area. Good working surfaces including a glass or metal surface, disposable foil or wax paper. Knead clay until soft and smooth. Shape clay.
2. Bake on an oven-proof glass or metal surface at 130C (275F) for 15 minutes per 6mm (1/4") of thickness. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT exceed recommended temperature or baking time. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Children using clay should be supervised at all times. All baking should be done by an adult.
3.When used as base for armatures or large beads, shape the Sculpey UltraLight to desired form and bake. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Cover Sculpey UltraLight base with Sculpey III or Premo clay and bake again. Sculpey III and Premo clay will chemically bond to the Sculpey UltraLight base when baked and make the final piece strong and crack resistant.
4. Once cool, baked pieces can be polished, sanded, drilled, carved and paints with 100% acrylic paints. If using oil-based or water-based acrylic paints, seal with Sculpey Glaze before painting. Pottery or dishes made from Sculpey UltraLight should be used for decorative purpose only, not with food, beverages or smoking materials.
